Physiotherapists
New Canadian Graduate who has Not Completed the Physiotherapy Competency Exam
Applicants meeting all registration requirements except passing the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE) clinical component are eligible for registration on the Provisional Register and able to practice under supervision.
- Provisional registration can be held for a maximum of two years.
- Despite the two-year time period, registration will be cancelled if you fail the PCE clinical component twice.
All applicants must provide:
- Registration checklist outlining how you will meet Alberta’s registration requirements.
- Evidence of obtaining a degree from an accredited Canadian physiotherapy program.
- Verification request form completed by the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators to confirm current exam status.
- Evidence of proficiency in the English language.
- Evidence of personally holding $5,000,000 liability insurance covering all areas of practice.
- Supervision agreement.
- Photo ID such as a current driver's license or passport and evidence of name change if any documents are in a different name than application.
- Application and practice permit fee.
- Complete application form.
Processing time
