Physiotherapy Alberta partners with a variety of organizations with mutual interests. 

Alberta Federation of Regulated Health Professions (AFRHP) is a group of Alberta health regulatory colleges with the same mandate ‘to regulate health professions in the public interest.’ AFRSHP strives to:

  • Enhance public protection.
  • Advance health care regulation.
  • Provide direction, expertise and leadership on health and related public policy.


Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (the Alliance) is the national federation of provincial/territorial physiotherapy regulators committed to the development and improvement of regulatory standards of practice for physiotherapists.

  • Establishes whether the education and qualifications of internationally educated applicants are similar to those of Canadian educated physiotherapists.
  • Administers the Physiotherapy Competency Examination to determine a candidate's readiness for safe, effective and independent physiotherapy practice.


Canadian Physiotherapy Association is the national voluntary professional association for physiotherapists in Canada. It strives to advance the profession of physiotherapy in order to improve the health of Canadians.
 

University of Alberta, Department of Physical Therapy is the only entry-level physiotherapy program in Alberta. Physiotherapy Alberta collaborates with the university to develop and deliver education programs and further the vision to advance innovative, quality physiotherapy service for Albertans.
