Presenter

Vanessa Valdes, PT, DPT, L.Ac. is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. She obtained a B.Sc. (PT) from the University of Alberta in 1980, a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Tristate College of Acupuncture (TSCA) in 1999, and a DPT from Arcadia University in 2015. 

She has worked in a variety of clinical settings in Canada, and the USA. 

She currently practices as a clinical specialist in outpatient orthopedics at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC and was a faculty member at the Tristate College of Acupuncture from 1999-2019. As a dually licensed physiotherapist and acupuncturist, she has written about scope of practice issues and adverse events related to needling treatments.
